The power lies not in those who have the abilities to wage wars but those who funds them. One of the implications of war is that money being burnt with each action taken. Debt is incurred. Hence, being able to influence and control politics. If the end is to generate more wealth, then with that influence, more wealth can be generated. If the goal is world domination, in essence, is achievable. There's no gainsay against this agenda in a world filled with greed except one - Louis Salinger who is guilt-ridden and thirsty for justice.
Legal justice lies not in our hands but those who wield influence and power - the rich or the debtors. Louis had difficulties dealing with this and took matters into his own hands. From another angle, he thirst for redemption for the mistake he did which caused the death of his informant/witness. The mistake was to trust the system of legal justice and the authorities.
Another deep impression was how life strips us of our ideals until we become totally wayward and come face to face with the man we wanted to be or become.
"Sometimes you find your destiny on the road you took to avoid it." - Louis Salinger
