Mid-Autumn Festival is the best celebrated with family. Everybody gathered for a time to meet, talk, eat and play. We spent the time playing and eating mooncakes. I like Tau Sa mooncake!
Dinner was steamboat packed with plenty of yong tau foo stuff and vegetables. As usual, we can't escape the curse of "Leftovers". My family is heavy-eaters but over the years as we grew, the children ate less and my parents don't chomp down food anymore. Uncle's decline from his past glory was the most obvious.
After dinner, more fun for the kids. I remember I snapped at cong cong for being naughty. I need to correct my way of reacting to children. The adults accompanied the children in playing with the lanterns, sparkles and candles. Somehow, the older men in the family, Dad and Uncle doesn't seem to want to join in the fun. But I'm sure we will have more fun if they did. Why so laid back?
