Spent this X'mas Eve with the rushing of gift making and making last minute plans of what to do over at Merv's. Went over to attend service at Carole's church. Was uncomfortable with the many rites that the Angelicans have. I always thought I have an open mind, a conclusion from the past experience of observing conservative style of service from other friends and in CF. I was wrong.
Nevertheless, the speaker was pretty good in engaging his audience. Although the message is biblically sound, I was disappointed at the examples highlighted to present the points and the gloomifying of the prevalent Singapore societal culture. In my mind I thought, the intention if most women who dress up is not to seduce men and those whose dress has less fabric in comparison to his gown isn't a declaration of indecency.
I could see clearly why the CF environment is good for the Christian community. We cannot be locked in the christian community locality. there needs to be an exchange that we may truely have a Godly attitude and react in a response that the world needs today.
