Of smiles and communitified 211209

The day of Eugene's declaration of Christianhood. I'm truely happy for him to be able to take the stand for himself and to make that commitment to Christ, above that, the courage to talk to and convince his family about baptism.

Got me pondering, since salvation is through faith, why the rush? I think for me, I will strive to the point where my family will attend my baptism before plunging into the water. To me, I'm born again and is truely cleanse and saved. I don't need another ritual to confirm that for me. I'm certain.

Jesus baptised not because He was lost and returned. He baptised to declare of his commitment to God. I think God is pleased with Jesus's baptism because Jesus participated in baptism to reconnect Him and the lost community, to have a level of understanding with those who are required to undergo that ritual of cleansing. I think, Jesus chose baptism as a form of reconcilation with the lost community and that pleased Him, instead of the norm of reconnecting with the Jewish community.

Reminded of Martin Luther's struggle with salvation.
