Flickering pixels: How technology shapes your faith by Shane Hipps

"To be human in the light of the Gospel is to face conflict in redemptive dialogue."

A thought that was explored in the book was conflict and the way our generation reacts to it. In the culture of individual living, where we are concerned with ourselves and the reduction of the need for a tribal community with the advancement in communication technology, this generation is not comfortable and willing to deal with conflict that may arise from communal living. With the rejection of the idea of coexisting with another in close proximity and the rise of the digital life, the understanding of communal conflict is eroded. Our generation need to understand and to continue to be anchored in the concept that "to be human is to be in conflict, to offend and tio be offended". It is the unescapable fate. We have to accept conflict.

"The medium is the message. We are the message."

Gotta get another Shane's book to read.
