A friend like Henry by Nuala Gardner

"At my parents' flat, I fell into my mum's arms, sobbing, "It's autism. He's autistic.'
In her usual indomitable way, she replied, "Is that the fancy name for it? Never mind, he's still our Dale and we'll do whatever it takes to help him.'" Jamie to her mum, Madge.

"I loved the feeling of water. The sensation all around me calmed me and I loved it. Nothing else mattered while I was in the water." - Dale, aged 19.

I love family-themed stories.
