The Substation

Went to The Substation with Delia and her two students to watch Bumiputra. I'm impressed at how she is able to relate to youths.

Was brought on a tour by Emily, THE marketing personnel of Substation.

After a tour to the rooms and the dancing studio and a bit of the background history, we were brought to the gallery. They are showing an exhibit called If a tree falls in the forest.

“If a tree falls in the forest” by The Institute of Critical Zoologists questions our views and relationships with animals. They are prey, pets, trinkets, trophies and pests. This exhibition makes subversive changes in the way we observe animals and illustrates how these changes can alter perceptions and interpretations and ultimately question the human to animal relationship.

White cockroaches from Tottori Desert, Japan! The difference in white makes me want to treat them with care. A drastic difference in treatment compared to their dark brown brethrens.

The growth of these desert cockroaches.

Scorpion sweet.

Who would buy a toad purse?

Kangaroo bottle opener.

Mole trap that pinches the nose of the mole.

Bird trap... Can't figure how it works.

Contains 300 mouse trap and was activated using the vibration from music.

The activiation of the mousetraps on Day 1.

A clearer picture of what happened.

Thank you Emily!
